Thanks for your reply Alvin. Your point about people figuring out their own beliefs around truth, love and power is exactly the point I was trying to make - not so much being dependent on what Steve believes, but rather because this is the case, just wondering how he then is able to describe these as essential principles people will follow to achieve personal growth. I think if I'm wearing my NLP hat I'm always interested in modelling how people do x, y or z and the more subjective something is, I guess the more difficult that becomes!

You've certainly given me some food for though - thanks again.

Thanks for the great read Josh. Our lives are very busy now and we seem to be distracted. We're always thinking of the next deadlines. Kids are busy playing PSP's and other handheld gadgets while talking to someone else. We need to recapture the lost art of true listening. :)

[...] I knew they were talking about me (because they named me) and it made me feel really good, and probably had even more of an impact than when people directly give me feedback about things. Sometimes when people say things to your face (like “gee I love your hair!”) you have a tendency to wonder whether or not the person is genuine or has a hidden agenda. In this case I knew that they were genuine in what they were saying because they were talking to each other, and it really impressed upon me the value of compliments.
