Great comments, said the fairly new blogger. Enough to get me coming back for more. Loved Liz Strauss comment on beginner's mind. Something I think we need to focus on more.

An excellent and very worthwhile idea! And yes, it could turn out to have a 'Chicken Soup' sort of momentum to it.

I'm tempted to take up your challenge. I suppose that emailing the original contributors and asking them for permission would be the least that I should do, do you think that is enough though?

My contribution to this would be:

Don't be afraid of your own failures. In fact, other people learn so much from your own failures that you give great value when you write about your results both good and bad, and explore and reflect on those results.

The first and most critical step, then, in effective and satisfying personal development blog is to help the reader discover and clarify their purpose of life. Purpose is the answer to the main question of life, "Who am I and why am I here?" (2nd most China Google inquiry in 2007) Knowing your life purpose brings focus, meaning, resilience, and fulfillment to your life; this is a fundamental self help activity.

"Your work is to discover your work and then with all your heart to give yourself to it," ~ Buddha

It's important to understand that life purpose is truly unique to each individual, this seems obvious but few people will sincerely stop long enough to really consider their true life purpose; parents, teachers, religious leaders, philosophers, advertising companies, and even media personalities may give us their view of life purpose. But it is just that--their view. Your unique purpose of life lies deep within yourself, covered by layers of teachings, warnings, fears, and doubts which we accumulate from others.

Anytime you can help someone find their true life purpose and passion you have made a huge impact on their lives. It's worth the effort as we have seen through out history, one person can make a difference in the world.
