Thank you very much.

Hey Alvin!

Well, it is ... huh... Yeah, as I think of it: you're probably right. The lack of willingness to change my beliefs is due to other, deeper beliefs. But they are - as I believe :) - founded upon experience.

Thinking that I could make as much money as I wanted without doing more, or even when doing less, would lead to a loss of modesty. Such a loss of modesty, however, already made me arrogant once, and my friends slowly started to turn away from me, as they were distracted from this arrogance.

Yeah, of course, you're right again: this does not apply to everyone - I'm often falling into the habit of making generalisations. I just wanted to annotate, that getting rid of ones beliefs may lead to bad changes to the character.

Thanks for replying and for running this great blog!

Best regards,
Felix

Hi Felix,

Thanks for replying! It's actually pretty interesting - have you looked back on what you wrote and found your own beliefs reflected back?

Or are they reflecting back to you beliefs so deep that you don't even question them? Like a fellow personal growth blogger wrote:

'The most deeply-held beliefs that a person has, are not even recognisable to himself as "beliefs". He simply assumes that the belief is just "reality".'

When you have a belief, you don't that that is what *should* be right, you think that *is* right. Your belief seems to be that earning money the easy way equals to being arrogant and ignorant.

'It is an heavily overdrawn version of reality'...or is it? Always? For everyone?

I'm the last one to be pointing fingers here. It takes me meeting someone whom made $900,000 in a month using no money down and meeting an old friend whom at 27, has already more than enough to not work for a long, long time to make me understand that there are other beliefs and other realities working out there.

And Felix, if money isn't everything and there's nothing wrong with earning less and less money when you have everything you already need...surely the reverse can be true as well?

Ha, well, but... By chaning your beliefs, you get rid of limits. But of what else do you loose?

You stop to follow an ideal: you stop to belief in what SHOULD be right. You do not think anymore, that the harder you work, the more money you get. You're on the right way to earn everything by doing nothing more than sitting on a huge chair, drinking coffee and jostling your employees around.

You're on the right way to get arrogant and ignorant for others.

-- Okay, yeah, sorry: this is neither ment personal, nor MUST it get real. It is an heavily overdrawn version of reality, but though it shows the direction.

I think, it is important to know which beliefs are good for you and which are not. And I think, money isn't everything. Why earn more and more money when you have everything what you (really!) need?

Best regards, and always the right insight!
