Power Notes: Notes on Success

Great changes come from many small things, even the smallest things could make big differences. What we do with the things we have makes the biggest difference in the quality of life.

Positive beliefs can make you a master.

Life is cumulative. Every decision carries with it an ultimate direction.

The challenge of leadership is to have enough power and vision to be able to project, in advance, what outcomes will result from my actions, large or small.

Recognize that happiness and success in life are not the results of what we have, but of how we live.

We all have the same amount of time. The question of the quality of life is answered by how we spend it, and choosing to work at making the time spent unique and special. Success is not an accident.

It’s not enough to talk the talk, I’ve got to walk the talk, because that’s what personal power is all about. Power to get myself to do the necessary things to produce excellence, to demand more from myself than anybody else could expect.

The quality of my life is the quality of my communication with myself and with others.

Know that knowledge is only power when acted upon. The ones who took action created fabulous success and changed the world.

Unlimited power means I learn from every experience and make every experience work for me in some way. It is unlimited power to change my perceptions, to change my actions and to change the results I’m creating.

I can change, I can grow, I can stretch myself. I can do things I never thought possible and my greatest fears and limitations are self-imposed.

(Various notes I took. I don’t remember the exact source(s), but they sound very Anthony Robbins-ish. Leave a comment if you know)

Power Notes is a collection of notes on personal development I made over the years that I recently dug up and thought would be cool to share. All steps have been taken to credit the correct sources as much as possible.

  1. I agree that a key to self management is self esteem. I would offer that true life inspiration happens when you find something you love to do and make it a part of your everyday experience. Here’s an exercise:

    1. Write down 10 things you love to do or that bring you the most joy. I call this the “You List”

    2. Then record how many times a day you do one of the things on your list

    3. Give each day of the week a rating from 1-10

    4. Your best day usually comes out to be the day you do the most things on your “You List”

I can easily relate to the first part of the story, in the past I was one of those people pretending you have done something and then be very uncomfortable when someone asks more detailed questions.
It is not a good feeling and being upfront from the beginning really saves you the embarassment later.
