I’m finding that out in my own relationship too, I love having someone who’s independent in her own way, that way we both make the decisions and use both heads and hearts in ways that are better than one.

Being in a relationship does force me to be more and more honest and communicative. I haven’t really articulated these thoughts yet but somehow just being with my girlfriend keeps me honest with myself and with her, otherwise like you said it wouldn’t hurt.

I love your last 2 paragraphs. Very worthy points to ponder over…

Hey there fellow 9rulers Thanks for visiting.

OK, there are some women that wants that from a man, but that’s not really the whole truth.

I disagree with these points as long as it’s not equally as my own as a woman in that relationship with that man. And I’m not talking about feminism here. I like men to be men and women to be women.

But the YEARS (lol) have learned me that the best relationship is based on an equally ground to stand on for both.

I prefer a man that is himself, not necessary so manly guy.

Communication is EVERYTHING. If we can’t talk to the each other and get our messages through – what’s the point?

He don’t have to show leadership – WE BOTH DO TOGETHER.

He don’t have to make decisions – WE BOTH DO TOGETHER.

He does have to take responsibility for his own acts as well as us together for everything in our lifes.

He doesn’t have to be especially strong. WE become strong together.

He does have to be honest though – both of us – to ourselves too. It won’t work otherwise.

Besides that, you cant’ go around thinking: “my dream man or dream woman should be like that or that”. If we do, we’ll soon be aware of that we’re wasting our time. These relationships will not last.

We can’t decide over Love. Real love just happens and it’s our own responsibility to take care of it.
