The Journey Home
Hi guys, I’m back
How have you been these past 2 weeks? It’s hard to believe it, but it feels like the time just flew past!
I was feeling burntout and tired, and I realized I had to take a breather to refresh and recharge, using many of the tools and strategies we’ve shared with you on this blog over the last 10 months.
How I Was Life Coached and Life Coached in Return
Although I was coming back stronger after taking these 2 weeks for myself, there was a missing piece that life waited to slot in only last night to further strengthen my validity in what I do.
A dear friend and I (reading this, JR pass-man?
) were talking about life, the universe and everything. I realized, as we were talking, how grateful I was to have him around, and how he had always been encouraging and supportive of me, even when I wasn’t supportive to myself…he made me feel re-charged, re-energized and re-empowered. He was my life coach!
And during one of our conversations last night, it just happened; I asked him a perfectly normal question: ‘how would you know when you’ve achieved that? what would you see, hear and do differently?’
And it slammed me; that was a life coaching question. And when I saw him pause, and think, that’s when I remembered the magic these tools and strategies have for expanding minds, hearts and lives.
We Want to Believe in Us
It made me wonder: why did I coach and why do I keep going?
Because I’ve always believed in the potential of people to kick-ass, and when people believe less of themselves it pisses me off. It’s as simple as that.
And I think that’s true at some level: we want to believe in ourselves and in humanity as a whole. We want to find and make meaning in our lives. That’s why we resonate with heroes, that’s why we welcome it when someone shows us a way to become more of ourselves.
And Life Coaches Blog is here to help you and I kick-ass.
Life Coaches Blog Changes
You might have noticed a few cosmetic changes I made around here. During these last 2 weeks, I held some internal reviews on the planned re-design, and most of my friends prefer this present look, so I’ve decided to stick with it.
The time spent on the re-designing won’t be wasted though, as you can see, elements of it are being incorporated here already, with a bit more fine-tuning to go.
Strategies for a Greater Life
Stick around, as more strategies for a greater life come right up
P.S. Interesting things happened as I was taking my 2 week breather. The Singapore newspaper Straits Times did a report on Life Coaching, which led to one of my favorite bloggers Mr Wang (hello!) to do excellent writeups on his blog: Life Coaching & Goal Setting Principles for Practical Problem-Solving (you can read some of my comments there as well).
