Link: Steve Pavlina, Jedi Knight

Title tongue in cheek :P

If my post about You Cannot Not Change The World and its light foray into the weird world of quantum physics wasn’t enough weirdness for you, check out some of the latest goodness from my main man the Steve Pavlina himself.

I’ve always loved Steve and his writing, everything he writes I would recommend without hestitation as thought-provoking, challenging and enriching. Lately, he’s been venturing into very interesting territories on his blog, weaving into psychic development and intention & manifestation.

Now I’m no stranger to the power of words and the power of thoughts, but this guy is something else. His ability to reprogram reality opens up my mind again and again as to what is possible:

For this first experiment, I decided to visualize myself becoming much stronger in my upper body. So for the past few days, I’ve been holding that thought and visualizing myself as much stronger than I supposedly am.

Well, this morning at the gym when I did my usual upper body workout, I noticed I was indeed much stronger than usual. I was able to increase my chest press weight by 20% and my dumbbell flyes weight by 33% with about the same number of sets/reps as usual. These were both new personal bests for me, and I felt like I could have gone even higher. My last upper body workout was just on Saturday, so seeing this kind of improvement over such a short period of time is very out of the ordinary for me. I really didn’t feel like I was pushing myself any more than usual. The weights simply felt lighter to me. I also didn’t change my diet or the time of my workout. I ate a few strawberries before my workout — nothing unusual there, unless these were genetically modified superberries.

Wow.

As someone who’s been an avid pursuer of personal development, I’ve avoided the whole ‘intention and manifestation’ thing for years, thinking it was too ‘new agey’ and ‘kooky’. But Steve’s opened my eyes with the amazing results he’s been able to get with the whole intention thing, together with Marc Allen in his interview with Steve, and it’s leading me to test it out.

Check it out!

  1. I agree that a key to self management is self esteem. I would offer that true life inspiration happens when you find something you love to do and make it a part of your everyday experience. Here’s an exercise:

    1. Write down 10 things you love to do or that bring you the most joy. I call this the “You List”

    2. Then record how many times a day you do one of the things on your list

    3. Give each day of the week a rating from 1-10

    4. Your best day usually comes out to be the day you do the most things on your “You List”

I can easily relate to the first part of the story, in the past I was one of those people pretending you have done something and then be very uncomfortable when someone asks more detailed questions.
It is not a good feeling and being upfront from the beginning really saves you the embarassment later.
