That didn’t take long. Over the night I got hit with 83 spam comments, some of them pretty funny (butt sex?).
But entertaining or not, I don’t want to spend my time deleting comments. So the old buggy comment security is up, while I sort out a better solution for the blog redesign.
P.S. One of the problems you might face is that the security code has a short time-out, by the time you finish typing your comment the code might have already expired (this has happened to me). Especially if you’ve left the browser window open for a while (like reading the post).
The quick fix-around for that bug is; before hitting that ‘submit comment’, copy your comment text, that way if you need to type it again you can just paste your old comment back in.
