I have more than one credit card just like many of us do. What interesting is that the higher your credit limit is, the more they will send you with lots and lots of marketing material to persuade you to spend more.

Especially now, where the 8 weeks of shopping madness is on – Great Singapore Sales 2006 is now on until 23 July 2006, the whole island at discounted price (sound interesting?)… Most of the retail shops participate in this event.

Why GSS (Great Singapore Sales) got to do with your life? For me, there is nothing wrong with shopping as long as you know what you want and stay away from credit card debt vicious cycle. My question to you is this…

When you shop during GSS to get new stuff, what you do with old stuff?

I believe that in some angle our life is like a glass of water, space is limited, and you can’t put new water in if you don’t pour some out, give it to other people or share. You have to clear out old stuff to allow space for new stuff in.

How to clear out the old stuffs? Donate them!!! Give!!! And your heart will grow bigger especially when you donate something that really useful. (You can check with donor organization whether donating items are useful)

I just recently donate 3/4 of my cloth (all good one) to the Salvation Army.

Don’t be an impulse buyer, be proactive donor. So, I suggest your DONATE FIRST, BUY new ones LATER and YOU will FEEL much BETTER. Don’t worry, you have 8 long weeks to do shopping.

You WIN, community WIN. If you happen to be a retailer, you can be the WINNER too (not by selling more), by having a “trade-in” campaign for donation and you probably can sell more
