Motivation that lasts

Alvin mentioned in an earlier post that motivation is a real-world process that has been turned into a thing through imprecise language. You don’t have motivation, like a car or watch, you do motivation, which is an abstract idea (you can’t hold, see, or hear motivation physically).
motivation is a process which has to be carried out.

Staying motivated involves taking persistent and voluntary actions towards our goals. I’m saying be persistent because we are looking for lasting motivation and not one that dies off.

Persistent actions will mean that you have to carry out certain tasks everyday towards your goals. Tasks can be as simple as reading books, making calls and exercising at home like skipping. Knowing that you are moving towards your targets you will slowly but surely reinforce your persistence to continue taking actions.

  1. The Path to Success Always Includes a Turn - February 23 2007

[...] Sometimes stepping out of your comfort zone is the only way to achieve what you want. Tony D. Clark wrote an interesting article calling fear an “asset” that should be “mastered“. You may fear someone will reject you, or you may fear that your efforts will be a waste of time or an embarrassment. Either way, you’ll never know until you jump in with both feet, recognizing that your fear is more about uncertainty than anything. Instead of letting it “bring you back to reality”, embrace it and prove to yourself, and only you, that your idea and efforts were valid. [...]
